Women of Spirit - Bev

My Spirit?????????
Well I would have to say that my spirit is most of all resilient.  I see it as a sort of stretchy balloon that can deflate and inflate........sometimes it's filled with the Spirit and sometimes it's empty but always it's tough and when it's empty it's just resting and waiting for the time to be right to fill again.

Sometimes it goes soaring in the sky; sometimes the air can come out of it all at once with a rude noise and then it falls to the ground sputtering......it can be tied and weighted down to celebrate certain people and occasions but never is it tied to one place or person forever.  It's free and you never know where it will end up next.

For colour........I see the full spectrum, and of course it depends on whether it's stretched to it's limit or empty what those colours will look like but even though the full spectrum is there at times the predominant colours I see are blue and green.  Flecks of yellow too............bright, canary yellow.

Exercise -- my Walking Stick

I love to walk in the morning.  I'm one of those morning people.........if it doesn't get done in the morning then most likely it won't get done at all and that means my walk.
Mornings.......fresh air, frost on the trees, walking before it gets hot, birds singing and all those other good things that my senses pick up.

I started using a walking stick which has now become two.  I use them to pump my arms, for balance especially the mornings when I'm not sure where the ice is, to stick out in the street for those vehicles that don't want to move over (I swear they aim for a person at times), and for the dogs.
My husband gave me a broken hockey stick.  Now you must admit that it isn't very attractive and I love colour.  So I dug out gel and wrapping paper and covered my stick and then the second stick by tearing pieces of wrapping paper and painting the gel on the stick.  Now, my walking sticks are visible when I walk.  Give it a try..........glue works.
Now this is feminine and a transformation.

Do you use a walking stick?
If you create one please share it with us.

Thanks for stopping by........come again with your cup of tea and sit on the porch.

Women of Spirit - Mary

My spirit is a powerful wind that nestles softly and gently next to me.
At times She makes the world spin on its axis; at other times she imbues the quiet with her essence.
She is always present, watching, loving.

Her colour is blue, many shades of blue.

PONDering.................

Contentment --adjective in a state of peaceful happiness or satisfaction. ▶ verb satisfy (someone).

■ ( content oneself with) accept as adequate despite wanting more or ...

As I walked this morning, I pondered about contentment!!

what is contentment?
What does it mean to you?
The scene this morning was the trees frosted with last night's snow, and there wasn't a wind to disturb the gentle picture created.  All was quiet......even the birds weren't singing this morning.  The white snow had been disturbed by the deer and other creatures that live behind the tree line.  Colours ranged from gray to black with touches of red sticking up and the beige leaves hanging sadly from a branch.

Is 'wanting' a condition of our society?
I'm content to stay home and don't have any desire to travel.  I enjoy short trips with my husband.  If asked if there was a material item I would like to have------it is a Gator but it isn't something I just have to have.  I enjoy being with friends, sharing a meal, being with my grandchildren, love it when my family drops in for a visit or a friend, enjoy my daughter stopping by for 5 minutes or 55 minutes, knitting, reading and walking in the morning.  I don't wish or want a larger home.........I really love my little house that we have renovated.  The only real wish I have is for yarn.

Is this contentment or a lack of dreams?
Is it being complacent?
Is it spiritual contentment?  As I have heard it told that when a person has reached a certain spirituality then they don't require a lot of material things.
Is it because I'm 61?
Is it my personality.?
I hope you take the time to share your thoughts as I'm curious as to what you think contentment is?

Women of Spirit - Grace

I believe at this moment in time my spirit is a blue frost, with yellow and white sparkles in it.

I believe this because of where I am in my spirituality.
The blue represents Mary and my love and devotion to her.
The frost is the cool calming balm my spirit feels whenever I turn my hurt over to her.
The yellow is the sunshine that God has brought into my life through my friend and the white sparkles.

I choose to believe is like the reflection of God's love in me that I am able to spread to others.
This is how I feel at this time.

Valentines.....showing we care

Valentine's Day is the one day of the year that we take the time to say "I care".
I always like to create as many of the gifts as possible and it is difficult some time to come up with new ideas.  Now with Pinterest there are so many ideas to choose from or be inspired by.
This inspiration came from Pinterest by viewing all the valentine ideas........I was inspired to create my own valentine with the materials I have.

I took pink cardstock and ran it through the Cuddlebug using a variety of embossing plates.
Then I cut hearts from the embossed cardstock and interfacing (Pellon).
Stitched the cardstock and interfacing together on the sewing machine.
Decorated the hearts with items from my goodie basket.
Filled the hearts with candy.

A Simple Valentine for my Valentines.

Share your valentine creation?
Is valentine's day a special celebration with your family?

Come again and sit with your coffee on the porch.

Snowman - Outdoor Art

I have been noticing over the years that art, paintings, having been moving outside to decks and other outdoor areas.  Last summer at WalMart there were canvases of outdoor art.

I had posted in my first blog outdoor art that I hung for the summer now, I'm posting again.......only for winter.
Purchased an 11 x 14 inch canvas at the dollar store, drew my sketch of my snowman, painted him on filling in shading and so forth.  I covered the piece of art with 6 THIN coats of acrylic varish.  Gave the back frame a coat of varish then covered it with plastic.

Outdoor Art that I created and suits my style.  Simple but fun!!!!

Really enjoy walking up too the door and seeing this happy snowman smiling at me.
When I'm walking down one of the streets, I can look between the houses and see the snowman.
I love it.

Do you like snowmen?
Are you going to try doing your own Outdoor Art?
Please, share your art with me.

Thank you for stopping by.........come again and sit on my porch and enjoy your tea.

I've decided to give my blog another go.
I had placed so much pressure on myself to blog every day and that just doesn't work.
So this blog will be a blog in progress, like my life............ever changing, ever adapting and forever creating in one way or another.

Hope you will enjoy this journey with me.
