Toe-Up Socks..........I did it!!!!!!!!

Attended Knit East in St. Andrews, New Brunswick at the end of September and really enjoyed the classes, meeting knitters from everywhere and roaming the knitting Market Place. Great opportunity for knitters to learn new ideas and tricks.
One of the classes I attended was from Deb Barnhill who taught me how to knit a sock from the toe up.  The title of her class was Toe-up for the Stubborn.  An awesome instructor.......great sense of humor, patient, very good teacher at explaining the concept. If you get the chance, attend one of her classes.
This is the sock that Deb had us do in class........just a small or short (?) version of a regular sock.  The instructions were written very simply so it was easy to understand.
Now, coming home and doing knitting a toe-up sock without an instructor standing near by is a scary.  I've knit toe-up socks before but heel was horrible........full of holes.........not a pretty site.
Here is my toe-up sock with a neat heel, not holes and really enjoyed knitting the sock and the challenge.  Deb gave us sheets to figure out the measurements so the sock would fit.  The yarn is Fabel by drops design.  A new yarn for me and I like using the yarn.
Check out Deb at Ravelry:  knittingpharm or her site www.knittingpharm.com

Have you ever tried to knit a toe-up sock?
Were you pleased with your sock?

Breakout.....

Last December, a group decided to choose One Word for the Year. Old patterns are difficult to change and I needed to be motivated.  My word was Breakout,  which  is posted above my computer, has been a great reminder. .
I love to create items but what do you do with so many of them.  To create enough items for a craft show isn't what I really want to do..........not at my age, which isn't 30 or 40 or........ However, I wanted to share my creations with the world and make enough cash to purchase more supplies but most of all have time and fun with my grandkids.
I'm not with techno savoy like my children but I have learnt a few things about this technology world.  I took a leap of faith and created a Facebook page for people to Like where my creations can be purchased online.

I'm proud of my breaking out and taking a giant leap as it is a great learning curve.
So Breakout and jump with both feet.
Check back as I will be posting my creations on my blog.

Take a moment to share your Breakout moment.
thanks for stopping by.                                 ............Mar

Snowflakes in Winter--ornament

I've discovered felting.......oh my it is addictive, peaceful and fun.  My creative brain is running ahead of the race.  I started creating felted ornaments .  Snowflakes in Winter ornament is wet felted and needle felted then embellished with  glass beads that catch the light and sparkle.  If you look closely, French knots are sewn to the bottom of the ornament using metallic thread.  So pretty!
Ornament Cost  $15.00

If you decide to felt an ornament like  Snowflakes in Winter then I ask that you create your design and not copy mine.  Thank you.
