Attended Knit East in St. Andrews, New Brunswick at the end of September and really enjoyed the classes, meeting knitters from everywhere and roaming the knitting Market Place. Great opportunity for knitters to learn new ideas and tricks.
One of the classes I attended was from Deb Barnhill who taught me how to knit a sock from the toe up. The title of her class was Toe-up for the Stubborn. An awesome instructor.......great sense of humor, patient, very good teacher at explaining the concept. If you get the chance, attend one of her classes.
This is the sock that Deb had us do in class........just a small or short (?) version of a regular sock. The instructions were written very simply so it was easy to understand.
Now, coming home and doing knitting a toe-up sock without an instructor standing near by is a scary. I've knit toe-up socks before but heel was horrible........full of holes.........not a pretty site.
Here is my toe-up sock with a neat heel, not holes and really enjoyed knitting the sock and the challenge. Deb gave us sheets to figure out the measurements so the sock would fit. The yarn is Fabel by drops design. A new yarn for me and I like using the yarn.
